About this walk

Hervey Bay boasts a 14km  shared pathway that stretches from the Urangan Harbour at the eastern end of the city to Gatakers Bay in the west.

The wide track follows the foreshore and gives spectacular views across the Coral Sea. The flat and shaded track is understandably popular with locals and visitors with multiple beach access points and parks and playgrounds found frequently along the track.

An excellent starting point for a pram walk is the playground at Scarness. Hammock swings and adventurous play equipment delight kids of all ages. An impressive fig tree makes a natural climbing frame; irresistible to older siblings (many parents too!).

The Hervey Bay Esplanade offers a diverse range of coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. Also available are picnic tables, toilets and BBQ areas.

Whales often visit Hervey Bay during the winter months while dolphins are seen throughout the year.

Head east towards Torquay for free exercise equipment or west to Point Vernon for stunning views of Fraser Island.
