About this walk
The Great River Walk in Penrith is a scenic, flat walk, popular with the locals. Situated 55kms west of the Sydney CBD, Penrith is the ideal location for a day trip.
The Nepean River is picture perfect, particularly when the jacarandas are in bloom. There is ample parking around the river for you to start at any point. The many cafes along the walk are superb and a great place to end your walk for a coffee and well earned hearty breakfast.
Tench Avenue on the eastern side is very leafy, people enjoy picking mulberries when they are fruiting.
There are stairs at the M4 end making it difficult to cross over, particularly for wheelchairs, however, you can continue along the river or return following the same path. Enjoy!
Pramwalks thanks Leanne for adding this great walk.
